Over the past few decades, the women’s relationship with the Italian academic institutions has changed and this transformation represents some interesting sociological aspects because universities are institutions where we can highlight multiple inequalities career, as demonstrated by important studies. It is necessary, in this sense, to point out how women have put in place processes to redefine social and individual identity on the basis of "socialization to the profession", thanks to which they internalize norms and values of the reference group, in which the decision-making power is still made exclusively, or nearly so, of the male world. The studies carried out show that the issue is the co-opted nature strategies that guide the academic careers. In fact, the dynamics that govern the access to and promotion of teachers are related to the process of "socialization to the profession", as the possibility of access to economic, symbolic and social resources, as well as the internalization of norms and values of their group reference.
