In this essay the author, a Brasilan migrant writer, describes her experience with Italian publishers. In her opinion, transcultural literature offers a new perspective on Italy. Living between two cultures and writing in two languages, transcultural writers express their diversity in original themes and in a style which reflects the influence of their mother tonge. In her opinion, an intelligent editing should avoid to conform a text so that differences between migrant and Italian authors disappear. The author comes to the conclusion that on the whole she had a positive experience with Italian publishers, unfortunately sometimes she had to deal with people who, damaging the entire category, pretended to be publishers.

Keywords: Transcultural literature, migrant writers, Italian publishers.
