This essay, starting from a wide review of the different kind of violence recorded on the Internet, outlights both how Big Data actually represent an effective support to investigation activities and how the wide access to these new sources can contribute to revise the traditional investigation strategies, as well. Finally, some good practices to prevent on-line violence, will be described.
