The author investigates and works on her use of taking down notes during a patient’s therapy, and tries to find its significance from the initial absence of writing, which she attributes to a need conveyed by a part of the patient’s Self kept secret and clandestine. In the development of the therapy the author focuses on the times of mutual tuning up and overlapping between a no more imitative use of drawing by the patient and the beginning of taking down notes by the therapist, which reveals itself as an expression of creative writing by both.
Keywords: On writing psychoanalysis, on not being able to take down notes between sessions, absence of writing, on writing as experience of secondary thought, on drawing and writing as means of creative experience.
