In response to Chamberlain’s article, the present paper offers a systemic-ecological analysis of the interdependence between the individual and the context. The analysis will also address lifestyles and critique the view that individuals bear sole responsibility for their actions. Coherent with this paradigm, participatory methodologies, mix-method tools, and community development are considered seminal means to assess processes and outcomes and to work with people.
