In this comment to Donna M. Orange’s opening report, the attention is paid to the emphasis on the ineluctable ethics of the commitment in the world of psychotherapist, as interhuman engagement. The consideration develops starting from the meeting of the author with Gestalt therapy, focusing on what deeply attracted her: the direct experience of the beauty of meaningful dialogue which, in every contact, always implies an Other, to-be-with. It is, therefore, a kind of contact that supports presence and awareness; freedom and responsibility.

Keywords: Donna M. Orange, ethics, dialogue, otherness, contact, beauty.
