In Roman philosophy, windows are openings through which the senses perceive the world; in the Jewish tradition the windows mark the border between man and woman, in itself an intersubjective relationship. In the Cantico dei cantici an intermediate world opens up that the couple’s partners build together. It is essential, assisted by the window, to maintain and nourish a relationship that is also the diversity of the couple’s members. Women and men are obliged to create intermediate worlds: to see themselves they need the mirror, to know the world they need a window.

Keywords: Window, logos, boundary, couple, relationship, asymmetry, symmetry, interme-diate space.
