The essay explores the special category of sources of law named as "leggi rinforzate" (partially similar to the ‘organic acts’ provided in the Spanish and French constitutions) in Italian constitutional law. First of all, the essay views the rise of these sources as a consequence of the introduction of a rigid constitution. Secondly, it focuses on the inherent variety of these sources, also in light of the peculiarities provided by recent constitutional amendments. A heterogeneous framework comes out, since the purpose to place limits on the political majority - which seems to be the main goal of these sources - is pursued through very different modalities and results.

Keywords: Leggi rinforzate, costituzione rigida, leggi organiche, leggi atipiche, riserva di legge; rigid constitution; organic acts, rule of law
