The editors formulated the questions regarding the theme of the is-sue "Vanitas" with an articulation that concerns the analyst’s vanitas. We consider important this aspect of the theme for the current and fu-ture generations of students of our and other psychoanalytic Societies. We asked Paola Golinelli to answer our questions. Paola Golinelli, past editor of the Annata Psicoanalitica Internazional, has a "live view", as a training analyst of the SPI, on the training of students and future psy-choanalysts of her Society.

Keywords: Vanitas, therapist’s narcissism, bipersonal psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic training
