In migration families encounter specific difficulties trying to construct identities on the border between two cultures: they become often bones of contention between origins (country of emigration) and daily fabric (host country), and manifest intense conflicts, both intra-psychic and relational. We discuss the processes of identification and the cultural transmission between generations that are involved.
