FrancoAngeli is member of Publishers International Linking Association, Inc (PILA), a not-for-profit association which run the CrossRef service enabling links to and from online scholarly content.

The article describes the state of the Italian publishing market as far as history publications are concerned, accounting for commercial printing, academic publishing, and university presses. The aim is to sketch an outline that elucidates the role played by recent changes in both book trade and academic teaching and research.
