The present paper aims to discuss the topic of active learning in higher education in a dimension of integration between active learning and lecturing. In fact, the goal is to overcome this opposition that often forces instructors to make choices that did not respect their own teaching and learning perspectives, and their personal way of teaching. The article intends to propose a third way, that of incorporating active learning and lecturing, of incremental changes and of the consistency of choices, in a didactic dimension that has been characterized for years by successful traditional practices that must certainly be reconsidered. In this direction, the paper offers readers strategies and tools to promote active learning in higher education
