At the end of the nineteenth century Patrick Geddes, one of the most important thinkers of his time on urban issues, made a trip to Cyprus where he developed an intervention strategy that in his vision could take on an exemplary character for the entire British colonial empire and for the territories of the Middle East. Through new water management and irrigation technologies it becomes possible to trigger positive economic, productive and social processes. In this way, the guarantee of peace is directly linked to the wise use of natural and social resources, tracing a possible path, never fully explored.
