After brief considerations on the role of school in light of the pandemic experience, the article presents, in a constitutional law perspective, the examination and the evolution of the constitutional law on school. Such thematic analysis is based on the Constitution itself, which contains a three-pronged division between organizational issues, questions of freedom of education and, finally, aspects of education as a social right. In relation to each of these aspects, the article aims at presenting the specific legal discipline, as well as suggesting a critique regarding open problems and tracing possible prospective visions.

Keywords: school as an educational community; education to citizenship; school organization; autonomy; freedom of education; social right to education.
