After a discussion on the term transdisciplinarity, some problems are exposed that arise in its applications, especially to health psychology. The difficulties for arriving at a system without stable boundaries between disciplines are both epistemological and methodological, but also organizational of the research-intervention protocols and of the interaction between social actors. An example of transdisciplinary research regarding the prevention of dementia is pre-sented. This type of research is a challenge for all health sciences, and specifically for psychology.
