Food, also in the recent case-law, begins to have a constitutional dimension. As an element close to the body, Constitution protects the freedom of choice, which is anchored in personal, conscientious and religious freedoms. The issue is also connected to health: from this point of view, the cost of healthy food should not produce inequalities between rich and poor people. The various questions must be framed in the rights of future generations to which the current social community is linked by the duty of solidarity. In this framework, the specific profile of food education finds recognition in the programs of the UN Agenda 2030 and in the Guidelines for Food Education of the Italian Ministry of Education: an idea of integrated global action takes shape between all subjects called to promote eating habits. However, on this front, recent studies have highlighted some weaknesses in cooperation for common and unitary programs towards food education promoted on a national level.
