The work develops some themes relating to the function of fairy ta-les and myths in the therapeutic setting, starting with considerations on the approach to studies on traditional narratives and the cultures that represent them from a psychoanalytic point of view. The focus is on the change of narrative functions in contemporary myths and fairy ta-les in a context of great transformations on the social level that in-volves important repercussions on individual and group psychology. Through an in-depth study of the therapeutic functions in some indi-vidual and group clinical contexts, an interdisciplinary perspective is brought forward that combines anthropological analysis with the theo-retical-clinical psychoanalytic dimension.
Keywords: myth, fairy tales, transformations, psychoanalysis, anthropology.
