This paper aims to analyze the policies for the promotion and protection of migrants’ health in the light of the "Medicine of Initiative". This approach is based on proactive, adaptive and dy-namic logics of action, also focusing on networking and on the strengthening of mediation capacities. The application of these principles allows for intervention on the set of precondi-tions that determine the possibility for migrant populations to fully exercise their right to health. On this basis, three cases of good practices that have taken place in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia are discussed here. The analysis has confirmed the application of the principles of initiative medicine and its positive effects in terms of results achieved.
Keywords: initiative medicine; migrant health; primary health care for migrants; networking; linguistic and cultural mediators; good practices
