During the 1970s, Enzo Collotti’s work as a historian was characterized by various forms of collaboration with the judiciary, aimed at opening an investigation on the crimes committed at the Risiera di S. Sabba in Trieste. After that, Collotti expressed historians’ disappointment for the 1976 verdict. According to him, the judiciary had refused to carry out a political trial and thus face the responsibilities of the Fascist regime and the forms of collaborationism that had characterized the years 1943-1945.
