The Metaverse as environment and resource. The concept of the Metaverse is in-troduced as an antidote to model-based thinking. An acceptable definition of Metaverse is the following: "a massively scaled and interoperable network of 3D virtual worlds rendered in real time, which can be experienced synchronously and persistently by an effectively unlimited number of users, and with continuity of data, such as identity, history, rights, objects, communications and payments". The proposed definition emphasises the Metaverse as a space of interaction, capable of bringing together both the physical and virtual dimensions: to speak in the case of the Metaverse of "twins" has the meaning not of a mere representa-tion/simulation, as in the case of models, but of a bi-directional flow of data, capable of generating a non-negligible relationship between the two dimensions. In the Metaverse, unlike in any model, one not only lives, but is confronted with a "digital twin", capable of condensing all aspects and all folds of the personality. If it is true that life does not need perfection, according to Jung’s teaching, but completeness, completeness means being able to observe oneself and see one's own dark side, one’s own shadow. In the Metaverse, the ego is naked: this circum-stance can more easily lead one to reflect on the reality of one’s shadow and one’s relationship with it.
