Preterm birth and consequent neonatal hospitalization in the NICU can impinge upon infants health and attachment development. This qualitative scoping review analyses the main psychoeducational intervention aimed at empowering attachment in preterm newborns and their caregivers. Eighteen articles have been analyzed using PRISMA-ScR method and have been organized into four main categories: psychoeducational support, skin-to-skin care, guides to improve interaction, and multimodal intervention. Overall, results show positive effects both on parental and infant attachment. Differences between different types of intervention are compared and discussed.
Keywords: preterm infants, prematurity, attachment, parental intervention, education, develop-ment care, stress.
