This article starts from the premise that innovation is the lever that allows to revitalize rural villages and aims to present a conceptual model of rural innovation. It arises from the analysis of several initiatives found in this context, based on the innovative use of local resources. The model can be applied to other cases that meet pre-existing conditions, allowing them to be adapted to the specificities of each case, to promote its reactivation with the achievement of positive impacts to the extent that innovation is appropriate by the community. The revitalization of the villages affects the issue of rural depopulation, key theme for achieving sustainable development goals.
Keywords: rural depopulation; rural innovation; innovation resources
