A forgotten past between Europe and the Americas: social scientists in the face of war and dictatorships This article focuses about some social scientists (Gramsci, Germani and Sorokin) and, in particular, on their "positioning" with regard to war or other forms of conflict and oppression (such as dictatorships) in order to em-phasise how the "positioning" of social scientists can still influence the construc-tion of public opinion and peace-making processes today.
