If time is «the number of movement according to before and af- ter» (Aristotle IV, II 219 b2), humans mark it outside animal stimulus-response sequencing. Through its evolutionary path, Homo sapiens has acquired the ability to interpose a metacognitive void in the temporal flow in which it reflects, conceptualizes, and remolds sensory information into mental images. As a result, humanity has transformed into a creative species capable of im- agining and constructing its own world. Therefore, what happens if the accel- eration of hyper-connected society compresses metacognitive temporality? If time is «the number of movement according to before and af- ter» (Aristotle IV, II 219 b2), humans mark it outside animal stimulus-response sequencing. Through its evolutionary path, Homo sapiens has acquired the ability to interpose a metacognitive void in the temporal flow in which it re- flects, conceptualizes, and remolds sensory information into mental images. As a result, humanity has transformed into a creative species capable of im- agining and constructing its own world. Therefore, what happens if the accel- eration of hyper-connected society compresses metacognitive temporality? Through an interdisciplinary approach, the hypothesis that will be de- veloped is that the infosphere is inducing a regressive metamorphosis of hu- mans towards animal reactivity. Today, more than ever, computer networks give rise to a complex connective consciousness capable of conveying, in real-time, highly spectacular images that tend to exemplify individual and collective behavior. To understand this process, attention will be focused on the COVID-19 infodemic.
Keywords: temporality, creativity, imagination, connective conscious- ness, pandemic, zoopolitics.
