This paper argues that systemic individual therapy requires constant work in “staging” family relationships, which has led the authors to exper-iment with alternative forms of narration that leave more room for the crea-tivity of both patient and therapist. After an overview of the evolution of systemic individual therapy and a mention of research on the internalization of relationships in developmental processes, the authors present the tools they are currently using, together with traditional genogram, namely the landscape genogram and the rela-tional scenogram, a tool they have developed by combining the metaphor of theater with techniques already used by other colleagues.
Keywords: systemic individual therapy, internal representation, geno-gram, scenogram, creativity.
