Epistemological references and methodology of research in Pagliarani’s work: some sparks for thought. The essay aims to investigate the main epistemological references present in Luigi Pagliarani’s work and to identify some aspects characterizing his way of proceeding in research. Starting from the examination of the thesis work dedicated to young Marx and to the birth of Marxism and considering the relationship with the thought of some authors who have addressed epistemological issues (Popper, Devereux and Prigogine) with which Pagliarani confronted himself, we tried to reconstruct the itinerary that led him to mature his own epistemological sensitivity, according to which knowing is a process affectively connoted for co-construction of interpretative hypothe-ses to be subjected to intersubjective validation. This places psychosocioanalysis within the framework of the hermeneutic and pragmatist philosophical traditions which have developed a strong criticism of the objectivist and reductionist perspectives of positivist and neopositivist origins. From the point of view of methodology, three fundamental operations have been identified (negative capacity, dialogue, serendipity) which ac-count, in practice, for the way research in the psychosocioanalytic field proceeds.
