This article presents some considerations on the dialogue between Luigi Einaudi and Carlo Rosselli regarding economic theory, starting firstly with a critical reevaluation of the contributions provided by historiography so far, which, until a few years ago, mainly focused on the controversy that arose in the early 1920s between the two protagonists; secondly, with the use of more recent studies as a support, this article evokes the network of relationships with other personalities in the fields of economy and politics who established dialogue with both interlocutors. The purpose is to invite a reflection directed, rather than on the divergences, on the points of contact between the economic vision of the young Rosselli and the teachings of the “master”, formulating some hypotheses on the potential processes of transfer between Einaudi’s thinking and the future elaboration of “Socialismo liberale”.
