The present research aims to deliver an account of the experience of an integrative-educational model that has enabled migrant women and victims of trafficking, hosted since 2018 at the SAI (System of Reception and Integration) in Procida, to convert an initial condition of “systemic stigma” into various forms of empowerment, leading to their redefinition of identity and acceptance at both personal and community levels. Indeed, the Action-Research educational model presented takes into account the in-situ experience together with the perspective of a reception characterized by a holistic approach. This procedure illustrates the need to put together multidisciplinary teams with a strong educational outlook that does not only take social-assistance factors into consideration. This will ensure the sustainability and effectiveness, in the medium and long term, of the interventions deployed.
