Over the past two years, the ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda has undertaken a digital transformation aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, care quality, and the integration of clinical processes, technologies, and organizational structures. The initiative, aligned with the objectives of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), is based on multidisciplinary governance and the active engagement of professionals across the organization. In preparation for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, the hospital is also developing an advanced digital ecosystem to ensure continuity of care in high-complexity settings.Niguarda’s experience offers an opportunity to reflect on the role of digitalization in the evolution of care models and in strengthening the adaptability of the healthcare system.
