Within the debate on participatory processes, the aim of this paper is to discuss different types of "know-how" related to those same processes. The objective of this paper is to critically review the way participation processes have been considered and to offer new planning perspectives related to everyday practices, urban cultures and integration dynamics. Linking all those aspects this paper will also suggest new frames to discuss common concepts as that of "design".
