This article is the transcription of a relentless dialogue between the authors about the recent book by M. Spagnuolo Lobb, The now-for-next in psychotherapy. Gestalt therapy recounted in the post-modern society. The outcome is a comparison between recent discoveries by neurosciences and main concepts of Gestalt therapy. The authors share their ideas about many concepts: intentionality and human attitude to recognize it in the other, development of caring attitude, therapeutic relationship as co-created space, Merleau-Ponty’s practognosics, the role of ability to move in psychopathology, embodied simulation and selfregulation of therapeutic contact, genetic and structural aspects of experience, the lose of sense in psychotic incipit, developmental-somatic-development, the non-verbal evidence of the patient’s development, the possibility of conditioning human behaviour and the importance for a scientist to remain open to human freedom.
