The author considers the problems connected to environment and the climate crisis, and suggests a new sociological perspective to this topic. As a direct result of the interview with Colin Campbell, presented in this issue of the journal, the author underlines that his transition from general sociology and sociology of religion to environmental issues is not coincidental. There is indeed a need to contribute in re-creating a sense of the collective. The paper concludes by returning to the primary sense in which sociology was born, that is: thinking to human problems and then reporting some solutions.
