This article aims to demonstrate the importance of the biographical-narrative approach in the study of social inclusion of migrant women in the Italian labour market. The job position of migrant women is one of the most important elements to value the social inclusion of migrants in the public sphere. Their access to the labour market is limited to the domestic services often working illegally. These women are isolated and not integrated in the society where they live in. Many of the domestic workers are obliged to work in this sector as they have no other chance. A relationship of dependence is thus created with their employer, who often makes them work many hours and give them no spare time. The integration of autobiography in the migration studies, by adding the value of sharing individual stories to the liberating power of self-writing, can allow the migrant women to overcome the social exclusion and initiate a promoting a qualified integration.
