The author presents the two main sources of gestalt therapy’s integrative/olistic approach to body/mind. One approach is the work on body, movement and breathing of the so called Lebensreformbewegung, that originated in Germany even before World War I. Lore Perls is the main promoter of this approach. The other approach is from the clinical tradition of Freudian psychoanalysis, which involves in a stronger attention to body language and emotions. This is represented mainly by Fritz Perls.
Keywords: Gestalt therapy and body, main sources, Lore Perls, Lebensreformbewegung, Fritz Perls, psychoanalysis, Character Analysis in Berlin.
