The article aims to shed light on the work of cultural organizations linked to the League of Nations between the two world wars, with specifi c attention to the role played in them by the Italian fascist regime. In particular, the article explores which factors led to a turning point in the cultural policy of fascism around the mid-1920s at the international level, as well as the reasons why the area of cultural cooperation was chosen in order to relaunch Italy’s role as an international actor. Finally, the long-term legacy produced by the international intellectual cooperation organizations will be illustrated.
