The paper aims to explore the recruitment process of the personnel working for a social cooperative operating in the Bergamo area. Our perspective is strictly focused on the context of its application, rather than a standard and universal procedure. The purpose of this contribution is to underline how the evaluation re-lated to contextual knowledge, considered a social construction, can be a source of change. With such a creative, generating, and situated approach, the selection pro-cess can evolve into an individual and organizational learning opportunity. The paper describes the methodology adopted, in compliance with the suggested con-textual approach, which provides the opportunity to identify the meanings at-tributed to the organization by the people involved in the specific context. As gen-eral results, exploring the representations of the employees who have been working for a year after the evaluation procedure, it has been possible to observe some consistency between the aspects depicting the organizational culture and the ele-ments orientating the staff throughout their work. This could suggest the possibil-ity for the evaluating procedure to be considered as a process of organizational learning, paving the way for new research directions.
