Teaching, Digital Media and Inclusion

This book deals simultaneously with three issues: educational technology in the school, the relationship between education, research and companies and the professional development of teachers. The term "digital school" is very much present in current public rhetoric. It continually crops up in discourses on education, it points the way to innovation, it promises to resolve all major educational problems.
The goal of this book is to encourage reflection on this construct - neglecting its misuse - through a case study that articulates the conceptual frameworks of teaching theory based on research in the field. In this way the trialing of the Samsung Smart Future project has permitted the development of a virtuous model of collaboration between companies, universities and schools. This has involved school teachers in a process of innovative professional development and also demonstrated the effectiveness of Episodes of Situated learning (EAS) teaching.
The result is a research report, a proposal to policy-makers and at the same time an accessible manual for teachers who wish to use digital media in their daily work.
