The birth of a child represents one of the most beautiful experience that a couple can have, but it could also bring to an evolutionary crisis in the couple which is known as transition to parenthood. This one is based on an increase of responsibility and a reduction of romantic and erotic components in the relationship. The postpartum is actually a really touchy period especially for the sexuality and intimity of the couple. There are not real contraindications to sex after pregnancy, but the physical and psychological change of the woman can affect the desire of the partners for each other. Scientific data demonstrate that sexual problems in new mothers are quite common. In spite of it, there is no much attention on the subjects of sexuality and contraception in postpartum. Counselling is not so common and only few women ask for informations about the difficulties they could face to during this period.
