The purpose of this study is to evaluate the socio-economic development policies of energy efficiency in Italy, in terms of impact on employment and professional expertise. In the light of policy objectives for energy efficiency, set both in the Europe Agreements and the national regulations, it is possible to identify areas item of measures to increase efficiency and, within them, to analyze the transformation of skills and professional figures, by specifying the emerging new green profiles. As shown in the data analysis, the conversion of professions induced by energy efficiency has a highly cross nature, triggering off a demand for new skills and expertise in various sectors. The processes of both technological and production innovation related to energy efficiency may also affect a significant audience of workers, even outside of the traditional green sectors, which could benefit from conversion processes into the new green profiles through specific training programs.
