No other creative field sees, as in the Art Brut case, such a stainless bond between the production and the traumatic state of the author. This element and its storytelling show up every time a piece of Art Brut is exposed, inserted in a text or sold. Does the resort to the trauma, and by extension to the biography, fills the gaps of a critic method? Does it aims to create an emotional impact and it indulges an exposure need? Moving among those questions and bringing into play specialists from different disciplines, such as psychoanalysis, the presence of trauma is enriched of further meanings and it arises as the real triggering factor for creativity and the reason of the art public’s identification.
