Attachment’s styles and dyadic adjustment in the adoptive couples - This research aims to evaluate the romantic Attachment Styles and the level of Dyadic Adjustment in 30 couples considered able to adopt a child, within the framework of attachment theory. Method. We used the Expe-riences in Close Relationships Scale-Revised and the Dyadic Adjustment Scale. Considering the romantic Attachment, there is a majority of Secu-re Attachment Style, characterized by low levels of Avoidance of intimacy and of Anxiety of abandonment; considering the Couple Adjustment, the majority of the sample shows a high adjustment. Results suggest that the couples able to adopt show both a strong valuing of the emotions and of the needs connected to the attachment in the marital relationships and a posi-tive evaluation of the quality of their marriage; furthermore these two aspects seem to be interconnected. Key words: adoptive couple, romantic attachment, dyadic adjustment.
