The fundamental rights of persons with disabilities under the UN Convention on the rights of disabled persons - This article is devoted to a critical analysis of the future relevance of the UN Convention on the rights of disabled persons to the priorities of people belonging to this particular category of individuals. It has tried to be comprehensive in scope. It describes the Convention’s main provisions, such as the liberty and security of persons, the right of living independently and being included in the community, the right to work and education, as well as the structure and the functioning of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Moreover, it briefly discusses the ratification and enforcement of the Convention and its related Protocol.
