The psychological consequences of abuse analysed through the use of Rorschach test The study aims to understand whether to what degree the Rorschach test might help to assess the psychological consequences of abuse in specific areas of child development. The sample is composed of 40 children, aged between 6 and 10; 20 of them are abused and 20 non-abused (control group). The comparison between two groups reveals that the abused children have ideation processes which are limited and lacking in formal quality; emotional processes highly-controlled due to the massive use of denial mechanism; limited use of introjection and the absence of identificatory internal objects.
Keywords: Abused child, sexual abuse, psychological consequences, Rorschach Test.
