Placido Consiglio was an eminent Italian military psychiatrist of the beginning of the last century. Yet, Consiglio and his studies still remain today largely unknown. After a brief foreword, the "Rivista Sperimentale di Freniatria" presents two significant articles of his, written in 1911 and 1923. Consiglio’s work represents an interesting example of the positivist perspective in the Italian medical world
