I propose to consider the processing taking place for some years into the bioenergetic community, as part of the tradition on the "paradigm shift" - tradition started in the 70s of last century - and as a "discourse of legitimation" in the frame of the present historical stage, called "late modernity" and "reflexive modernity". In this perspective, I develop some historical and epistemological thoughts; I propose, in particular, to use the term "body stream" to identify the psychotherapy stream in which bioenergetic analysis is the most important component.
