Promote an expanded notion of living means assigning value to the particularities of places, considering the existing system as a resource to develop and promote new forms of perception and communication. This logic also applies to peripheral areas. Following this approach, the Green Rays philosophy express an informal land use planning linked to the formal existing planning, at the local scale as to territorial. The strategic project MILU applies these principles to the region that connects Milano, Varese and Lugano.

Keywords: Landscape meaning, landscape project, cultural identity, sustainability, interaction, urban regeneration
