Taking into account the literature on child abuse and particularly the most recent Italian and European research projects on this subject, the report focuses on the complex relationship between professionals, Judges and experts, as well as victims of child abuse during assessment. The article also explores the prejudices that guide these professionals in their evaluation of child abuse, as well as examining the issue of training and specific vocational skills in listening to children. In particular, it highlights the main ethical topic in which specific guidelines are proposed with regards to the conducting of interviews and the assessing of witness's reliability as the Statement Validity Analysis.
