This article offers an analysis of the term moralism. Leaving aside historical and common meanings, here the developed reflection is aimed at a political conception of morality, at least insofar as politics is associated (or should be associated) with moral normativity. Anyway the issue is not merely normative, since ethic and ethic of politics should actually be applied to an empirical, and not theoretical, system, that is the "structured social reality". The current Italian political situation is precisely the ground where the critical essay herein proposed practices.
