The interplay between deep analytical psychology, ethics and psychic energy offers a conception of ethics founded on a functioning for pairs of opposites. A strategy of treatment based on the understanding of the other contains the seeds of an ethic of opposites, which recognizes the value of each of them. To understand the deep emotions of the patient and his/her value orientations, it is necessary that the analytical couple consciously assume the reasons of the patient’s attitudes, even when they are in conflict. The feeling of anger, poured out in the analytic setting and re-experienced by the analyst, is an emblematic experience, sometimes hardly understandable, creating in the here and now a field of energy in which the practice of the ethics of the double value becomes essential to continue the transformative path.
