Juvenile sexual offending is a complex phenomenon, whose psychopathological and criminological assessment can be difficult and insidious. The authors, drawing from literature and their personal clinical experience and research, outline the main structural characteristics and mental functions of Juvenile Sexual Offenders (JSO). They, in particular, described the pathogenesis, criminodynamic and the main risk factors for relapse of abusive sexual behaviors, such as the knowledge elements needed for the assessment and the subsequent rehabilitation strategy of juvenile sexual offending.
